The Histrionic Academy - Boston Walking Tours!

Location: Charlestown Navy Yard Visitor Center and at Landing Site (Approx 80 yards away from Visitor Center towards USS CONSTITUTION)

Witness a dramatic recreation of the historic event over 232 years ago when patriots rowed midnight rider Paul Revere across the harbor from Boston to begin his famous ride in Charlestown. From 7-8:15 PM there will be performances by The Histrionic Academy and fife and drum music at the Charlestown Navy Yard Visitor Center followed by a brief procession to the end of Pier 1 in the Charlestown Navy Yard near the original landing site. At Pier 1 (across from USS CASSIN YOUNG) from 8:30 until approximately 9:30 there will a speaking program featuring a discussion on the life of Paul Revere and his row and ride as well as a reading and discussion of Longfellow's famous poem. The program will climax with the dramatic arrival of a row boat containing costumed rowers and an actor portraying Paul Revere. This will be followed by a short skit with costumed members of the Histrionic Academy players portraying Charlestown patriots. This year's Featured Speaker is Professor and Colonial History Scholar Jonathan Chu. The Paul Revere Row coincides with the Annual Old North Church Lantern Lighting Service.

The event is free. The visitor center in the Charlestown Navy Yard will be open from 6- 9 :30 PM that evening for the event.

Paul Revere Row is presented in conjuction with the Old North Church Lantern Lighting Service and is made possible by the cooperation of a variety of organizations including The National Park Service, the Old North Church, the Friends of City Square Park, the Hull Lifesaving Museum, the Paul Revere House, the Histrionic Acedemy, USS CONSTITUTION (United States Navy),the United States Coast Guard, Charlestown Working Theater, the City of Boston, and Boston National Historical Park
